The free tests on this website are essential for you to pass the real test. Please note, however, that these practices are not the actual exam, and you will not receive your license if you pass this practice test.

But once you keep reading and remember all the road signs (G1 Practice Test-1 to 6) and road rules(G1 Practice Test-7 to 14), you will obviously feel confident enough to write the actual G1 test.

About the G1 Test

The actual G1 knowledge test comprising 40 multiple-choice questions is divided into two sections: Road Signs/ Traffic Signs and Rules of the Road/General Driving Knowledge. Each section has 20 questions in a multiple-choice format. To pass the G1 Test, you must answer (80%) 16 questions correctly per section.

In case you fail the knowledge exam, you may write it again after three working days. However, you have to pay the required fee. If you take the test again within a year of your original attempt, you will only have to retake those sections that you failed. If you retake the exam after a year, you will have to take the entire test again.

Languages

Computerised G1 and M1 knowledge exams are available in twenty languages. Paper versions of the class M1 knowledge tests are only available in English or French. For commercial licence knowledge tests, computerised tests are only available in French or English.  And paper versions are only available in English, French, Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese), Hindi, Punjabi, Russian, and Tamil.

    • Be at least 16 years old.
    • Pass an eye exam.
